Multimax Adds Navy Expertise to Expanding Business Development Team
Fred Mingo Brings 27 Years of Proven Performance in Federal, DoD Arena
Herndon, Va. (January 31, 2007) – Multimax, Inc. – the premier resource for performance-based enterprise information technology (IT) and communications services for Department of Defense (DoD) and civilian agencies – announced today the appointment of Fred J. Mingo, Jr., Captain, U.S. Navy (Retired) as Vice President, Navy Business Development, effective January 24, 2006. Mingo will direct Multimax's business expansion efforts within the Navy, building on the company's current strong record of support to Navy and Marine Corps programs.
A senior executive in the federal IT community, Mingo brings nearly 27 years of proven performance in demanding leadership positions. He most recently served as Commanding Officer for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Systems Center, New Orleans, Louisiana. There, he led a unit comprised of 800 military, civilian, and contractor personnel throughout five states, providing enterprise-level IT systems development and operations support serving over 430,000 global Navy sailor customers. Most notably, Mingo’s accomplishments include ensuring continuity of operations (COOP) during Hurricane Katrina, managing the $42 million Hurricane Katrina recovery effort, and directing IT infrastructure consolidation.

Mingo's prior experience includes serving as Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer for the Naval Reserve Force; Aviation Safety Program Director for the Naval Air Reserve; and Officer in Charge and Departmental Head positions within the U.S. Navy and Canadian air squadrons.

Mingo has received numerous awards for his expertise and service, including two Legion of Merits, two Meritorious Service Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, and the Navy Commendation Medal. In 2006, he was honored with the Department of the Navy Information Management/IT Excellence in Leadership Award and a Federal Computer Week Federal 100 award for his efforts during and after Hurricane Katrina. He is past president of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Silicone Bayou chapter in New Orleans. He has a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Miami University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School.
