Security Architecture and Engineering
Today's network-connected world requires that agencies design and maintain a robust secure network computing environment that ensures reliable, assured communication and information dissemination and delivery. And, the security of information systems, networks and the information they process must be considered during the initial stages of system design and development. In fact, early identification of the security aspects of the system will ensure that security is “designed-in” as an integral part of the system, and not added-on at some future point.
The key to creating such an environment lies in the ability to identify and implement appropriate security controls intended to provide and enforce the desired security posture. Those controls must be integrated into the engineering of the information system or network in the form of security products and/or design decisions that result in a layered secure operating and information processing environment.
Whether an organization is considering a new security boundary, remote access solution, converging desperate networks or completely redesigning an enterprise network, Harris Information Technology Services Security Architecture and Engineering services can provide comprehensive Information Security expertise throughout the project. Our services are delivered by trained and certified personnel who have extensive experience in the design of security architectures, boundaries and information systems. Our expertise extends to such security product groups as:

Program Spotlight
Harris IT Services delivers Security Architecture and Engineering Services to Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and the U.S. Navy in support of the
Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) program. We have led network design services and provided secure architecture and engineering
services to more than 250 network engineering projects since the NMCI contract’s inception in 2000. In addition, Harris IT Services has
contributed to the design of the NMCI security boundaries, secure information transport boundaries, secure remote access services
and enterprise demilitarized zones (DMZ).
